Roccon, Renny (aka The Fabulous Wonder Mama)

Renny Roccon/The Fabulous Wonder Mama (1971-)

Renny Roccon, aslo known as The Fabulous Wonder Mama, was born in Sydney and grew up loving superheroes, dress-ups and lip-syncing. Little did he know that his childhood obsession with Wonder Woman would inspire his alter ego the Fabulous Wonder Mama. In 2015, Wonder Mama made her debut in the Mardi Gras Parade and she hasn't looked back since. In this interview, Renny discusses the development of Wonder Mama into her full super power fabulousness, her experiences with drag storytimes and the motivation for the 2024 Mardi Gras Parade entry 'Drag Storytime is not a Crime'. Renny is also an author/illustrator and has published a children's picture book 'It's OK to be me' about a kid who just doesn't fit into the typical 'boy' mould.
