Williams, Cameron

Cameron Williams (1947-)

Cameron Williams grew up on Sydney's north shore and was educated in economic history at the University of Sydney. Cameron then worked in stockbroking and moved over to Sydney's east. Cameron recalls many of the iconic gay venues and beats in the eastern suburbs and northern beaches, where police bashings were a common occurrence. He also describes gay social circles, parties in the 1970s, and the later arts and galleries scene.
